It’s been a pretty hectic few months for me; with work, study, training & everything else that life throws my way. So I figured I really needed to find a way to relax my mind & body, to take some time to focus on myself & let go of any anxiety I was holding onto.
I’ve tried doing meditation on my own before & it never really worked. I just don’t think I have the focus or disipline to do it on my own. So I thought I’d try out some yoga classes at Humming Puppy to work on calming my head & stretching out the stress tension in my body.
I made my way to their studio in Prahran & fell in love with the place as soon as I stepped inside. With a beautiful aesthetic, comfy couches to relax in, along with complimentary coconut water & tea to sip on, it was safe to say I’d found my new happy place.

Having never really tried yoga before, I was a bit apprehensive. However, I started off with one of their Mellow Hum classes, which was just perfect for easing me into it. Consisting of some basic poses & some meditation, I left feeling lighter & brighter.
The special thing about Humming Puppy isn’t just the warm instructors or the clean & calming atmosphere, it’s the hum! Yes. the yoga room literally hums. It produces frequencies of 7.83hz and 40hz, which are known to ground you as well as allow your brain to be at it’s peak. It was a strange experience, but I’ve got to say, it really did help me focus & feel safe. The instructors, studio & ambience are all beautiful & I’ll definitely keep going to get my humming fix!
