Strive for progress, not perfection.

Why do most people give up on exercise? Because they do it for a few weeks, look in the mirror & don’t see this ‘perfect’ image of themselves they’ve engrained in their heads. You shouldn’t be striving for ‘perfection’. The perfect body doesn’t exist. It is but an imaginary concept made up by the media & businesses to make you buy things you don’t need. So take that image & throw it in the bin.

Instead, strive to be healthy. Strive to be strong. Strive to be confident. Strive to be happy with your own body. Focus on your progress to keep you going. Realise how much further you can walk since you began exercising. Be proud of being able to lift more than you could last month. Feel amazing about joining in on a class you were to anxious about doing before. Give yourself a pat on the back when you say no to the chocolate biscuits being offered in the office.
Do it for your progress. Do it for you. And keep doing it.
